  • It depends! Most private parties start at a $200 minimum. This typically covers ~1.5 hours. Additional time and $ required depends on how many kids/people will be there and other event or occasion details.

    Face painting: 10-12 kids painted in hour (depending on complexity)

    Balloon twisting: 10-15+ balloon animals in an hour (depending on complexity)

    Fun & Games: ~20-30 min interactive show and activities

    Story Time: totally varies!

  • 50% of the fee is required upon booking to hold the date, and is non-refundable. The event date is not secured until this payment is received!

    The remaining 50% is due 1 week before the event date.

    Plums can only stay until the end of the booking time. Additional time on the day of may be available for a fee.

    Payment methods accept: credit / debit card, cash, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, ACH transfer

    Invoices / receipts can be provided upon request!

  • If the event is cancelled more than a week before, there is no charge other than the upfront 50% booking fee. This fee can go towards a new date within 12 months of the original booking date, but is not refundable.

    If the event is cancelled within 1 week of the original date (when the second payment is due), no refund is available. 50% of the fee can be used towards a new date as per the above.

    Plums cannot perform any services outside in the rain (unless a large covered area is provided) and cannot hold a rain date. If events are meant to be held outside in an uncovered area, a backup indoors location is recommended!

  • Plums is based in Somerville and likes to stay local! Somerville, Cambridge, Boston, Medford, Malden, Arlington, and Watertown are all within the travel area.

    Don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re in another town or city, though!

  • That sounds great! If you book both face painting and balloon animals, face painting will come first and balloon animals come second. There is a max of 12 kids for 2 hours for this combo.

    If you want to include fun & games and story time, the order of operations will depend on the other details of the event.

  • For health and safety reasons, face painting and balloon twisting is only available for children 3 and up.

    Balloons are made of latex and are not suitable for anyone with a latex allergy!

    Face painting is also unable to offered to anyone:

    • With open wounds or rashes

    • Showing signs of illness

    • With lice

    • Who are crying, upset or unwilling

  • Yes! Plums can come in:

    • Full clown (as you see in photos on this site)

    • Lite clown (just the nose and some fun clothing/makeup)

    • No clown (aka Angie - in fun clothing or professional all-black)

    • Access to a bathroom/washroom

    For Face Painting, Plums may need from you:

    • A table

    • Two chairs

  • Sure! I am fully insured (through COAI), and fully background checked / CORI’d (through Girl Scouts).

    I only use professional quality face paints made for skin, and high quality latex balloons made for balloon twisting.
